Jose Mourinho's Record Still Speaks for Itself

Image
Jose Mourinho and Chelsea Football Club parted ways today by mutual consent as revealed by the official website of the club, www.chelseafc.com after losing his 9th English Premier League game of the season which left the team languishing in 16th place with 15 points in 16 games. Despite this, Jose Mourinho still boasts the best points per game ratio of managers in the Premier League and is still the best Chelsea manager of all time with 7 trophies in two spells (2004-2007 and 2013-2015). He's still the Special One.

Chelsea Under-performers Last Season Compared to This Season

The Problem at Stamford Bridge

Champions in May, 3 points above the relegation zone in November. What went wrong? You will be right if your answer is "a lot". In a league known for its competitiveness, you would have expected the reigning Champions to bolster their squad with high quality signings, but barring Pedro, who hasn't convinced since that man of the match performance on his debut, all they've done is bring in a certain Falcao in hope that he will rediscover his scoring touch, which hasn't happened so far, Rahman, who is still blending into English football with rather inconsistent performances, and Djilobodji, who I'm sure was as shocked as everyone else when he heard Chelsea wanted to sign him. Jose Mourinho, as we all know, wanted more than these, as the likes of Paul Pogba, Gareth Bale, Raheem Sterling and John Stones were all at one point rumoured to be on the transfer radar of Chelsea, with the latter being pursued, even until the end of the transfer window, without any suc...

The Diary of A Gooner

Diary of a Gooner by Nrabalu A. E. The news that Hector Bellerin is going to miss the clash with Bayern tonight, comes a familiar sigh of resignation. I say familiar because this sort of 'news' isn't that anymore. The most promising youngster in all of English football is lost, well, we'll survive or won't we? Matthieu Debuchy will deputise superbly, we'll fight out a draw, maybe even a win and subsequently qualify in 1st place.   I know, that's how it plays out in my dream. As an Arsenal fan if you're not used to the roller coaster you're just joining, at this club everything is never really perfect, not even close. Forget about injuries, our trophy drought was well documented, we have overcome it, but not with the big one. I'd say it's coming this season but remember how nothing is ever really perfect at this club? I'm sure you wanna argue, this has been a mind blowing start to a season, best in a while. Important players firing on a...

Players Who Redeemed Themselves Following Shocking Debuts

Image
For, Petr Cech, I think it's safe to say that he didn't expect his Premier League debut to turn out as bad as it did, but then he can look forward rest assured that there were players who had really bad showings on their debuts and went on to do great things for their clubs and some even became club legends. Here's a list of some of those players... Jonathan Woodgate - Real Madrid Henrik Larsson - Celtic Tomas Repka - West Ham Zlatan Ibrahmovc - ACMilan Patrice Evra - Manchester United

Ronaldo and Ronaldo

They're from two different generations in football, two different countries, but both are similar in their appetite for goals, good with both feet, have bursting speed and are 3-time winners of the FIFA Footballer of the Year Award. Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho Need to Bury the Hatchet

Image
14 matches played against each other, two of the world's top and highest paid managers in the world, a host of titles between them, both of them manage the two biggest teams in London, but there's still no love lost between them. I think it's time for them to grow up and start a healthy competition rather than continuing with the war of words. Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho! shake hands and shake it off.
