The Diary of A Gooner

Diary of a Gooner
by Nrabalu A. E.
The news that Hector Bellerin is going to miss the clash with Bayern tonight, comes a familiar sigh of resignation. I say familiar because this sort of 'news' isn't that anymore. The most promising youngster in all of English football is lost, well, we'll survive or won't we? Matthieu Debuchy will deputise superbly, we'll fight out a draw, maybe even a win and subsequently qualify in 1st place.
I know, that's how it plays out in my dream. As an Arsenal fan if you're not used to the roller coaster you're just joining, at this club everything is never really perfect, not even close. Forget about injuries, our trophy drought was well documented, we have overcome it, but not with the big one. I'd say it's coming this season but remember how nothing is ever really perfect at this club? I'm sure you wanna argue, this has been a mind blowing start to a season, best in a while. Important players firing on all cylinders, scoring goals, making assists, playing football. But in all of that, let's take count of the players on the injury table, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck, along with recent additions Club Captain Mikel Arteta, Rambo, Chambo, Theo and "The Flash". Talk about a roller coaster! Well maybe that's why we love our club so much, maybe all those years without a trophy unconsciously put that hint of emotion in our hearts, made us Love Arsenal that tiny bit more. Maybe just maybe we Love Arsenal because deep down we don't want a smooth ride. That's not implying that we wanna go so low on the see-saw as Chelsea have this season, but what's a good season without the bad moments to make the good ones seem really special, what's a decade of decadence to a Century of Glory? Whatever happens today, We are The Arsenal, we believe!
